Treatment
Medical-grade microneedling
Controlled micro-injury to address skin texture, scarring and overall skin quality — built over a series of treatments.
What it is
Microneedling creates thousands of tiny controlled channels in the skin. The healing response that follows lays down new collagen and elastin, which is what improves texture, scarring, pore appearance and overall skin quality. It also stimulates circulation in the skin, which improves how well it takes up the products you put on it afterward.
Medical-grade means depth control and sterile single-use cartridges, at settings that actually reach the dermis. A home roller does not do this, and using one over active acne can spread infection.
What it treats
- Enlarged pores
- Rosacea
- Acne
- Acne scars
- Surgical scars
- Stretch marks
- Hair loss
- Aging skin
- Fine lines / wrinkles
- Sun-damaged skin
- Pigmentation / melasma
How I approach it
A series of treatments is recommended for all skin concerns, not a single session. Collagen remodelling takes time, and the result builds across multiple sessions — how many sessions, and how far apart we space them, depends on what we're treating.
How often
- Rejuvenation: 3–6 treatments, spaced 4–8 weeks apart
- Acne scarring: 4–6 treatments, spaced 6–8 weeks apart
- Stretch marks: 4–6 treatments, spaced 6–8 weeks apart
- Rosacea: 4–6 treatments, spaced 6–8 weeks apart
- Hair loss: 4–6 treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart
- Pigmentation: 4–6 treatments, spaced 2–4 weeks apart
- Acne: 3–4 treatments, spaced 2–4 weeks apart
- Maintenance: typically 2–4 treatments a year
What to expect
Day 1
Red and sensitive, like a mild sunburn. Avoid sweating and strenuous exercise.
Days 2–7
Redness settles and you may get mild flaking or peeling.
After a week
Normal skincare resumes. The collagen response continues for weeks after that.
Wait 4 weeks after a dermal filler treatment before microneedling.
