Neuromodulators
“Anti-Wrinkle Injections”
For relaxing the facial lines that appear when you move.
Neuromodulators are injectable prescription medications that temporarily reduce the activity of specific facial muscles. Lines that form from repeated movement — frowning, raising the brows, squinting — soften as the muscle underneath relaxes.
How I approach it
Your facial anatomy and the strength of your facial muscles are unique — no two treatments are alike. I will always map how your face uniquely moves in order to determine your treatment dose.
I always start conservative. Results should look relaxed and natural. If we need to add a little more we can easily do this at your recommended two-week follow up.
There is no reversal agent for neuromodulators. They are metabolised out of your body over a period of time, typically three to four months. This is highly dependent on your individual metabolism.
What to expect
Timing
Effects begin at 2–5 days. Full result at 2 weeks. Typically lasts 3–4 months.
Recovery time
You can return to your day straight away. Small raised bumps at the injection points settle within an hour. Bruising is uncommon, but it is possible.
Review
Any adjustment happens at the two-week mark, once the full effect has developed.

Before and After Photos
The vertical “eleven” lines between the brows, from frowning and concentrating.
Horizontal lines from raising the brows. Treated carefully — this muscle also holds the brow up.
Lines at the outer eye, with a small amount placed to lift the tail of the brow.
The muscle that pulls the corners of the mouth down. Relaxing it lets the corners sit level rather than turned down at rest.
Softening the muscle that lifts the upper lip too high, so less gum shows when you smile.
A small amount at the upper lip border, letting the lip roll slightly outward. No filler involved.
Neuromodulators can also be used cosmetically to improve facial asymmetry — treating the stronger side can let the weaker side catch up, so the face sits more evenly at rest and in movement. Every face is unique, so this is assessed individually, treated conservatively, and adjusted over time.
